Los Angeles – Sherman Oaks / Sepulveda Basin

Los Angeles is in Los Angeles County in Southern California.
The city Incorporated on September 4, 1781.

Sherman Oaks is in the City of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County in Southern California situated north west of downtown Los Angeles. It was founded in 1927.
As of the 2010 census, Sherman Oaks had a population of 66,696.
Sherman Oaks is bordered by Van Nuys and Valley Glen on the north, North Hollywood on the north east, Studio City on the east, Bel Air and Beverly Glen on the south and Encino on the east.
The Los Angeles River runs through the north and south of Sherman Oaks.

Sepulveda Dam is in the City of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County in Southern California situated north west of downtown Los Angeles. It was completed in 1941 at a cost of $6,650,561.
Sepulveda Dam was constructed in response to the 1938 floods which killed 144 people.
Sepulveda Basin has a large recreation area called Woodley Park, a model aircraft field, a Japanese Garden, a wildlife refuge, a water reclamation plant and an armory.
Sepulveda Basin is bordered on the north by Van Nuys, on the east by Sherman Oaks, on the south by Encino and on the west by Encino.
